Yaan Zheng (Freya ) has a developed medical background in China before studying to be a registered massage therapist at Algonquin College. After graduating in 2012, she has practiced at Elgin Massage Therapy since and took over the business during a difficult time before the pandemic in September 2019. Since taking over the Clinic Freya has created an understanding, effective, and healthy environment for our clients and Therapists.
Freya's goals and aspirations for her growing business never cease and continue to show through the satisfaction of her clients. While she is not practicing, Freya enjoys being a mother, reading, cooking, and gardening. Despite her busy schedule Freya finds time to incorporate new practices and services for clients and is always ready to welcome newcomers to Elgin Massage Therapy.

I studied under a group of incredibly insightful and talented therapists and teachers prior to becoming a registered therapist in 2005. I have worked at EMTC full-time since 2006. I have experience working with a very wide array of varying conditions and ailments ranging from serious physical and emotional trauma to simple day-to-day aches and pains. My objective is always to work toward the best possible solutions for each client’s desired outcome, and my priority is to make sure that clients are always being met in an environment where they feel respected, understood, and cared for in a professional and thoughtful manner.

I have been an RMT since 2005, i studied at the international academy of massage therapy here in the west end of Ottawa. I have extensive experience in deep tissue massage and have furthered my studies with various complimentary courses throughout my career as well as being an instructor for the massage therapy course at Trillium College. my goals are always to help improve my clients day to day life, whether it be a functional issue, or a structural one. I appreciate being a facilitator for health and well being.
Sylvie Chartrand, RMT, ICs
Sylvie graduated with honors from the Massage Therapy program at Algonquin College and has been practicing since 2008. She earned her Bachelors of Health Sciences Honours degree from the Univerity of Ottawa to help further her knowledge and passion for anatomy, physiology and body mechanics. She is experienced in working with chronic conditions, stress related injuries, postural imbalances, pre and post natal, repetitive strain injuries, and headaches. Sylvie is committed to helping clients improve their well being, understand their bodies and achieve their pain management goals through self care.

As a Registered Massage Therapist, Lulit uses a variety of Swedish massage techniques to address upper & lower body issues related to office work and also enjoys working with clients who are seeking stress relief through relaxation treatments. She enjoys integrating new techniques acquired through continuing education and values empowering clients to pursue their personal health and wellness goals. Lulit practices Level 1 Reiki and continues to develop her intuitive side. She enjoys combining her empathic and analytical sides to provide effective treatments in a warm and caring environment.
Tyler Milewski, RMT, ICs

Tyler graduated and became an RMT in 2017. He completed a course for contemporary acupuncture and has been doing dry needling as well as massage. He mostly uses Swedish massage in order to leave you feeling at ease, but also uses deep tissue massage, myofascial release techniques, remedial exercise, joint mobilization and stretching when necessary. He makes use of dry needling in order to help people with more stubborn and persistent issues like scarring. Prior to 2017 he had a lot of difficulty walking for three and a half years due to an issue with scarring in his leg. He began learning massage and needling therapy in order to rehabilitate his own leg, eventually fixing the problem completely. Therefore, he has been using these therapies before he was in school for either of those things. He enjoys helping people improve their ability to do everyday tasks and educating people about their injuries and common health issues.

Angie grew up in a small village East of Ottawa and graduated from Algonquin College Massage Therapy in 2003. Angie has a deep passion for connecting with clients and employs a collaborative approach to identify and address their goals. She uses Swedish techniques with light to medium firm pressure to treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and has particular interest in the mental health benefits of massage therapy. Recently Angie completed a course focused on providing massage therapy to clients with a history of trauma. Outside of work she enjoys listening to music, long walks and local art.

Justin Bourrier is a registered massage therapist who graduated from Algonquin College. He has been working in the field for nearly 8 years. Justin uses a focused treatment approach to give his clients optimal long term results. Although he’s capable of treating a wide range of conditions, he specializes in using both fascia and deep tissue techniques.

Gilmour Johnson is a graduate of the message therapy program from the International Academy of Massage in Ottawa. He previous earned his Bachelors of Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. With his extensive background as a personal trainer working both in gyms and as part of physiotherapy clinics as well as his education in human kinetics, Gilmour has a deep understanding of anatomy and human movement which helps in his treatments of clients di&erent problems. As a therapist Gilmour likes to use a variety of techniques to tackle problems. He also believes involving the client in working towards their speci(c goals is importantto achieving the desired outcomes of the treatments

Lei Chen is a registered acupuncturist. Graduated with honours from International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine College. She studied ancestral acupuncture technique from Renshu Liu, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor in China. She has been studying the theory of TCM for many years and have gained a lot of experience in it. Lei is very patient and will confirm the client’s condition according to detailed consultation, make specific treatment plan for each individual and will continue to improve the treatment plan according to the treatment effect. She also practices Japanese acupuncture diagnosis and gentle needling technique, this softer style of acupuncture is very tolerable.Lei will determine the best approach for each individual however, she generally combines acupuncture, cupping, guasha and moxa in her treatment sessions. She is experienced with treating various conditions including: pain management, mental health, gastrointestinal disorders, reproductive system illness, paralysis, tiredness.
