The mandate of the College of TraditionalChinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) is to ensure the safety of the public. Practitioners who have had at least 2000 patient visits in the last 5 years, proving that they have treated a multitude of health issues, and passed a Safety and Jurisprudence exam may get grandfathered into the regulatory body. Only registered members are allowed to practice TCM and Acupuncture.
Before you get acupuncture next time, ensure that the practitioner is registered with the college.
Acupuncture is holistic - it works by balancing the energy pathways in our bodies. It promotes better energy and blood flow by inducing a minor healing response in the body. It can therefore help with any health condition that you may be suffering from. All you have to do is get a treatment and see how you feel.
Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Guasha, and Cupping originated in China. They form a special Traditional Chinese Medicine medical system. They are the most convenient and effective traditional therapies with a history of thousands of years. They are safe and have few side effects. Acupuncture and Moxibustion can adjust the system function of the body and enhance the body's resistance to disease, strengthening the organs and immune system. Medical research has proved that the principle of acupuncture and moxibustion analgesia has gone deep into the molecular level of nerve cells, electrophysiology, and neurotransmitters such as cerebral peptides. Guasha, Cupping is based on the skin theory of Traditional Chinese medicine, to promote blood stasis, dredge the meridians, relax sinews and smooth body energy, dispelling pathogen, detumescence, and analgesia.
